Guess what?! This darling couple gets married in less than a week! There's nothing like celebrating a wedding on the horizon like throwing it back to their Cherry Creek State Park engagement photos. Dawn and Spence first charmed us last winter, hugging, kissing, giggling and running around snowy fields like two kids in love! Dawn and Spence pose for a portrait in the snow at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora, CO. Skirting a reservoir and housing a plethora of trails, animals, and open spaces, Cherry Creek State Park, located in Arapaho County, is massive. And not to toot our own horn or anything like that...but every part of it is absolutely beautiful! It's Colorado for goodness sake, it's all beautiful! So, of
For many, spring is a time of rebirth, regrowth, and love. For us here at From The Hip Photo, spring is a time of excitement, as our busy wedding season is only just around the corner: summer! But for Michael and Holly, Spring was a time of celebration--engagement celebration in particular! Not only was their Denver Botanic Gardens engagement among the blooming tulips, it came as a complete surprise to Holly! Micheal proposes to Holly at the Denver Botanic Gardens. We love planning surprise engagements with our clients. It's always fun stealthily sneaking around beautiful overlooks, hiking trails, even tree nurseries! This time around, we got to walk through the Botanic Gardens in Denver, completely engrossed in the springtime flowers blooming.
Another balmy winter day provided us with great weather for beautiful Downtown Denver engagement photos. Being just two days before Christmas, an enchanting holiday feel was buzzing in the air around Union Station and Civic Center Park. We're still not sure if it was coming from the bride and groom-to-be, or the busy travelers and last minute shoppers. If we had to guess, our money is on the gorgeous pair! Engaged to be married this coming December at the McNichols Building in the heart of Downtown Denver, the stunning bride-to-be and her handsome groom-to-be snuggled, smooched, and intertwined their fingers. Kiki and Ret had a few outfit changes, all of which we loved. Her black, lace dress paired so well with
In Colorado, you'd think that chicly rustic engagement photos wouldn't be as great as they are in the more southern part of the U.S. Well, think again! Lauren and Phil looked like a romance straight out of one of Brad Paisley's songs. On a side note, can we just say that red is most definitely Lauren's color! Golden, Colorado's Clear Creek History Park was the perfect setting for a rustic photo session, with all the homestead's buildings from the early 1900's proving to be a great backdrop. There were several neat props provided to us from the historic park, as well as purely by nature. The red barn was perfect with their outfits, bringing all eyes to the adorable couple. Lauren and Phil
You know those little side roads you drive past all the time? They're peripherally familiar but you don't actually know where they lead. Well, We highly recommend you turn down one sometime. If you take the chance, you might end up in a beautiful place like Eldorado Canyon where we had the pleasure of capturing this recent Eldorado Canyon engagement photo session! John and Natalie were so dreamy among the leaves that had begun their colorful journey into autumn. Not only this couple showcase their more formal side, the pair was able to do a complete 180 and show off their football pride! Natalie looked simply ravishing in her black minidress. The sparkles on her dress radiated a purple hue
Photographing a surprise proposal is always a treat. It gets our adrenaline going almost as much as it does the proposer and the proposee! For this specific session, we were in Boulder for surprise proposal photography in a Christmas tree nursery. Our photographer pretended that she was taking photos on behalf of Creekside Tree Nursery and captured the pair cutting down their own Christmas tree, which is something Dana has always wanted to do. We caught the moment Michelle proposed to Dana, which happens to be the exact moment our hearts melted! The lovebirds' British bulldog, Finley, was all about her parent's getting married. She waged her nubby little tail faster than Dana could say yes! Se was also a great stand to display
We spent a gorgeous fall afternoon with Alana, Erick, and their two friendly pups in Golden, Colorado taking their Clear Creek engagement photos. The bright autumn light bounces off the warm colors well, giving everything a toasty glow. It makes this adorable couple look amazingly snuggle-able, that's for certain!
What do you get when you take a sassy southern woman and a shy but adorable man? Jaclyn and Jacob! Now, add in our photographers, a short walk to a breathtaking Rocky Mountain overlook, and you get... this stunning Sapphire Point engagement photo session! The hike itself is a 0.6-mile loop located just outside Frisco, Colorado, and don't worry--although the walk is a relatively short one, there are plenty of places to stop and take in the scenery, making it a perfect location for photos. If there's one thing we know for certain about Colorado, it's that the weather here has a mind of its own, so it isn't all that unusual to wear a t-shirt in the middle of winter.
Our new favorite way to spend time with your wedding party is to throw colorful chalk paint powder at your future spouse and all your friends. Welcome to Victoria and Caleb's wedding party chalk fight festivities two days before their beautiful wedding day! Though, this isn't just any paint. It has a chalky-like substance that is biodegradable, which is important to think about before you go and start throwing things in nature!
A day filled with a mountain town engagement, hot chocolate, sushi, champagne, and your family is definitely one for the books! Tobie and Lindsi were enjoying the winter enchantment Aspen, Colorado has to offer when Tobie surprised his beloved by getting down on one knee and popping the question!
