The end of high school can be a stressful time. Besides their normal schoolwork, students are applying to colleges and preparing to say goodbye to old friends. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the sudden onset of adult responsibilities. But Felicia's outdoor senior photos showed us that senior year can be a time of celebration (and style!) Outdoors in Overalls Felicia came to her photo shoot with a variety of outfits that were both classy and comfortable. In a sturdy pair of light-wash overalls, Felicia ventured out into a creek. The results prove that gorgeous natural photos are what Colorado does best. She later switched into a pair of black jeans and a red shirt. This combination contrasted the shoot's background while showing off Felicia's sense of style. A cute, versatile olive green hat enhanced with both of these outfits. Summer Fashion and Sunflowers Felicia looked at home surrounded by nature. Colorado's beautiful mountains served as the perfect backdrop. She demonstrated that outdoor senior photos can still be elegant with her final outfit. In an ornate black romper, she basked in the perfect summer weather and lighting. Are Outdoor Senior Photos Right For You? Senior year is a momentous
With summer behind us, there is a lot to look forward to with the changing of the seasons. The color of the leaves will turn and we'll begin pulling out our sweaters as the temperature cools. It's a time to relax more and sweat less. While we're excited about Fall, there's much we'll miss about the summer. Today we're remembering one of our favorite summer memories. Back in June, we did a scenic Granby Ranch wedding shoot with Desirae and Nico. A Granby Ranch Wedding Shoot Granby Ranch, CO is a "four-season mountain community where families connect and play." You can hit the slopes for an exhilarating day of skiing or play a laid-back game of golf. The ranch has a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. The best part? It offers all the amenities and freedom of a remote resort while only being 90 minutes outside of Denver. Over 500 families live on the ranch, which means you'll experience a real sense of community. Marise Cipriani, founder of Granby Ranch, writes that the ranch is "where families and friends connect, live, play, and enjoy nature in the Colorado Rockies." Interested in an outdoor wedding? Colder weather is right around the corner here in the mile high city. But before you triple layer let's remember those picturesque sunny days that have now come pass. Don't get too down though, if the snowy season isn't your forte, there's always spring to look forward to! Over the summer, we had the pleasure of working with Bronwen, Rick, Toby, and Dash to capture some joyous City Park family photos! This family -- especially the boys -- brought a lot of personality to the table, so we hope you enjoy! City Park City Park is one of the most popular parks in the area. Not only does it have lush and spacious fields, it's also home to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Even on an slow day, you can find people at City Park doing all sorts of activities. For this session, we spent time near the museum. The front entrance of the museum provides a diverse mix of natural and industrial features. Plus a lots of opportunities for playful handholding with the (fake) animals! The Cutest Sith Lord What a weapon to behold! Although he might be armed with Kylo Ren's lightsaber, Toby
While traditional weddings are all good and well, elopements offer an entirely underrated opportunity to focus on the most important aspects of a new marriage. Personal and intentional, elopement weddings are a blast to be a part of! We loved capturing Deborah and Kevin’s intimate elopement photos in Colorado because they made clear what was most important: marrying one another. What’s the Buzz? Most couples want to escape the stress of planning a big wedding and considering family and friends’ opinions and feelings. Elopements allow couples to sidestep all the pressure that comes with planning and just focus on marrying one another. We are big fans of this untraditional wedding route, and we even wrote a blog post about it! Check out, “The Importance of Weddings Photos | Especially for an Elopement” post! Considering if an elopement wedding is right for you? Check out “The Pros and Cons of Eloping” by Sandy Malone! True Love Inside & Out Deborah and Kevin went from a luxury indoor setting at Denver’s Oxford Hotel to an outdoor dream venue at Arrowhead Golf Course. These venues proved the perfect spots for Deborah and Kevin’s elopement photos. The Oxford’s white walls and elegant décor made
Summers in Colorado can get balmy at times... But other times, the weather can be perfect for outdoor excursions with family and friends! We headed up to Boulder to capture this beautiful South Mesa Trail family photoshoot. These guys could not have been more joyous! South Mesa Trail The South Mesa Trailhead can be found south of downtown Boulder, off of Highway 170. The trail is well-known for being a great place to see wildlife while not being too difficult to traverse. Much of the trail is out in the open, leading to some fantastic views of the nearby mountains. Plus it's not too far at all from downtown Boulder. Pearl Street for those who aren't familiar, is another great location to shoot or just hang out around! Check out some other photoshoots that we've done in Boulder here! Best Friends Fur-ever There's more than just three to this family! A couple of their canine pals joined us for this session. Pets make great additions to photo sessions because of their easy going vibes, pets make for great smiles all around! This clear and sunny July day proved to be an excellent source of natural light, which always provides a
Our friends and official office wine supplier, The Infinite Monkey Theorem Urban Winery, have been busy making magic happen. They've added to their already impressive line up of canned wine that they've been hustling since 2010. Even if you're familiar with Denver's longtime urban winery, chances are they have some new canned wine you haven't tried yet. Still new to the canned wine craze? Here are 5 reasons why you should join the wine revolution and crack open your first wine in a can! 1. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle Aluminum is the most recycled packaging in the world so if you're trying to minimize your waste we think it's time to jump in on the wine in a can craze. Ben Parsons, CEO and Winemaker says that aluminum is "infinitely recyclable" (ha, get it?). So you can feel proud of your beverage choices, just make sure you pay attention which bin you dispose your wine in! 2. Beware of Glass in the Outdoors Handling glass anywhere in the outdoors is risky business. Why should we let canned beer have all the fun when your in the backcountry? Infinite Monkey's canned wine lets you combined your wino side with your adventurer side.
It's common knowledge that Colorado is home to some of the most beautiful scenic areas and parks in the country. But what could be more breathtaking when you add two bright and beautiful faces into the mix, and at Evergreen Lake at that? Congratulations to Lisa and Jen on your engagement! Check out some of our other nature-infused and Evergreen shoots here. Evergreen Lake The town of Evergreen is home to a beautiful lake and lake house which both provide an absolutely fantastic environment for a photoshoot. Weather in Colorado can be somewhat unpredictable at times, but on this day, the sun shined as bright as this couple's future! Despite the sunshine, the weather was still cold enough for us to capture some beloved moments on the lake's frozen surface and banks. The perfect embodiment of "Colorado weather," we think! A Romantic Getaway The Evergreen lake house is ever-so romantic. It just might be the perfect place to escape to with a loved one! In fact, our young couple Lisa and Jen were incredibly passionate at our session -- with laughs, smiles, and embraces. It's always a pleasure for us to build strong and lasting relationships between two very affectionate people.
This past May, we had the pleasure to head back to one of our favorite places in Denver that certainly needs no introduction: RiNo! RiNo is a fantastic place to shoot because of its vibrant colors and personality. Plus, with the weather starting to warm up, what could be better? We had loads of fun working with Rebecca and Zane for their family photoshoot in RiNo! RiNo - River North Art District We've visited RiNo a numerous amount of times over the years, and each time we go, we always find a reason to go back! Lonely Planet named the River North Art District as one of the 10 coolest neighborhoods to visit in the United States, namely for its punk rock aesthetic and gorgeous street murals. Some of our favorite spots have been the Denver Zine Library, as well as Ratio Beerworks. If you haven't had the chance to go yet, we highly recommend you check out some upcoming events! Rebecca & Zane What a perfect trio! This family's energetic personality was as bright as the sun on this beautiful spring day, with many laughs, embraces, and smiles. The various street murals that we stumbled upon provided some excellent backgrounds
Back in February, we had the pleasure of visiting The Regional. The Regional is a LoHi restaurant that is famous for serving fantastic food sourced from local farms and ranches in Colorado. They also serve seafood sourced from various places in Massachusetts. This past spring they hosted a culinary event dedicated to the No Kid Hungry charity. Come check it out! The Regional Chef and owner Kevin Grossi opened The Regional back in the summer of 2016. He sought to recreate many classic American dishes from all over the country using locally sourced food. He focuses particularly on comfort food. As he describes in an article with Eater Denver, "We're not doing crazy things to our products," Grossi said, "we're bringing the down-home feeling down to Denver." However, after spending two years at their LoHi location in the Avanti F&B, The Regional will be moving to Fort Collins in the early fall. Grossi plans on deepening his regional dishes in the new location: “The Regional has always been about adding a local element to whatever food you consider ‘hometown’ cooking. That will never change. If anything, we’re just moving closer to where so much of it is already growing in our state.” Check out
