On Top of the World
There is a wealth of photo opportunities when you’re on top of the world. Scenic 14ers paint the vast backdrop of the Guanella pass. However, if you prefer a more whimsical spot, halfway up the road to the top is a great location that is covered in aspen trees, and surrounded by a creek! Children will adore this fairytale-like scenery.
Guanella Pass is stunning in every aspect. The location exudes harmony- perfect to compliment a couple’s special bond. Wherever placed at this 11,670′ high elevation, the pictures are sure to stand out. The drive up takes a little over an hour. However, that hour will go by quickly as even the drive itself is filled with astonishing sights. September and early October are two of the most popular times to drive the pass.
Since this location is far from Denver (where our studio is located) we require a $150 travel fee. However, you can bring your furry friends to see the amazing views! The Guanella Pass provides views of Mount Bierstadt, one of Colorado’s famous fourteeners, and it cuts through the historic town of Georgetown, one of the best-preserved Victorian communities in the state. The road includes picturesque views of both nature and architecture. It will transport you into the serenity of nature, as well as back in time!
