Laura and Justin’s idyllic Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding, just a stone’s throw from Downtown Denver, had all the elements of a magical wedding. An Idaho Springs, CO Wedding Shoot Idaho Springs, CO is a perfect stop off I-70. A walk around downtown shows many well-preserved historic buildings, as well as plenty of quality restaurants. Who doesn’t want someone to travel the world with? Lily and Jacob never shy away from a new adventure and exploring a new place! Always trying to climb the next mountain together. Love encourages us to reach new heights! That is why this beautiful couple hiking to the top of a snowy peak made these photos so much more special. It is a scene that showcases beauty almost as radiant as their love. In between Keystone and Breckenridge, CO sits a winter wonderland, Sapphire Point. With an elevation of 9,500 feet, this gorgeous overlook of Dillion Reservoir is the perfect spot for any thrill seeker. We're in the midst of a particularly cold winter here in Denver. While the ice and snow make getting to work a little less fun, one upside of the chilly weather is the early opening of many of Colorado's ski resorts. Stephanie and Brian managed to beat both the cold and the crowds at their Beaver Creek Resort wedding late this fall. The crisp fall air was perfect for taking photos outdoors, and it certainly helped that all the aspens had begun changing colors! A Mountain of Activities Beaver Creek Resort is a major ski resort owned by Vail Resorts. The company owns several other ski resorts in the state. Although winter sports are the resort's biggest draw for visitors, the resort hosts activities all year long. Maybe you want to spend the day with a private snowboarding instructor. Or maybe a day at the spa is more your style. Whatever your interests are, Beaver Creek has it all. The resort even has its own village, complete with dining and shopping options. One of these fine dining options is Beano's Cabin, which Stephanie and Brian chose as the venue for their Beaver Creek Resort wedding. Beano's
We might be a little biased, but we believe it's hard to beat Colorado in the summertime. We get low humidity, clear skies, and some of the most incredible views around. These qualities all make Colorado a dream wedding destination. And if you're going to get married in Colorado, why not go all out? That's exactly what Mikal and Andrew did in this mountaintop wedding shoot in Keystone! An Uplifting Experience Most people associate chairlifts with ski trips, not weddings. But Mikal and Andrew aren't like most people, and this isn't like most weddings! Besides, hiking in heels on your special day can be a real drag. The fun-loving couple decided to reach their mountaintop wedding shoot in style. If you ask us, it was worth it. Look at that view! Ages of Affection Having loved ones around is always nice, particularly on a day as important as your wedding. Mikal and Andrew were lucky enough to have generations of family both young and old in attendance to celebrate their devotion to each other. Of course, they also had plenty of friends by their sides as well! We doubt this young flower girl will forget this one-of-a-kind experience anytime soon! An
With summer behind us, there is a lot to look forward to with the changing of the seasons. The color of the leaves will turn and we'll begin pulling out our sweaters as the temperature cools. It's a time to relax more and sweat less. While we're excited about Fall, there's much we'll miss about the summer. Today we're remembering one of our favorite summer memories. Back in June, we did a scenic Granby Ranch wedding shoot with Desirae and Nico. A Granby Ranch Wedding Shoot Granby Ranch, CO is a "four-season mountain community where families connect and play." You can hit the slopes for an exhilarating day of skiing or play a laid-back game of golf. The ranch has a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. The best part? It offers all the amenities and freedom of a remote resort while only being 90 minutes outside of Denver. Over 500 families live on the ranch, which means you'll experience a real sense of community. Marise Cipriani, founder of Granby Ranch, writes that the ranch is "where families and friends connect, live, play, and enjoy nature in the Colorado Rockies." Interested in an outdoor wedding? While traditional weddings are all good and well, elopements offer an entirely underrated opportunity to focus on the most important aspects of a new marriage. Personal and intentional, elopement weddings are a blast to be a part of! We loved capturing Deborah and Kevin’s intimate elopement photos in Colorado because they made clear what was most important: marrying one another. What’s the Buzz? Most couples want to escape the stress of planning a big wedding and considering family and friends’ opinions and feelings. Elopements allow couples to sidestep all the pressure that comes with planning and just focus on marrying one another. We are big fans of this untraditional wedding route, and we even wrote a blog post about it! Check out, “The Importance of Weddings Photos | Especially for an Elopement” post! Considering if an elopement wedding is right for you? Check out “The Pros and Cons of Eloping” by Sandy Malone! True Love Inside & Out Deborah and Kevin went from a luxury indoor setting at Denver’s Oxford Hotel to an outdoor dream venue at Arrowhead Golf Course. These venues proved the perfect spots for Deborah and Kevin’s elopement photos. The Oxford’s white walls and elegant décor made
Classic with a twist? That’s exactly how we would describe Nathalia and Nathan’s Saint Malo’s Chapel wedding. This day was bright and brilliant among every stone, mountain, and corner. Congratulations to the newlyweds! The Classic In addition to having dangerously similar names, this couple’s harmony with one another was nothing ordinary. Somehow they each embellished themselves in personal touches like bowties and red lipstick, yet they fit together as well as the stained glass pieces of the chapel. Saint Malo’s Chapel on the Rock in Allenspark, Colorado, is considered a state landmark not just because of its longstanding history with the Catholic church. This chapel rests at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains like a sleeping giant. The chapel’s stone exterior dating back to 1939 provided earthy, cool backdrops for the happy couple. And if you think that’s spectacular, wait until you see the breathtaking stained glass art inside! Check out some of our other favorite venues here! The Twist We thought Nathalia looked so elegant in a fitted wedding dress and simple pearls. Her shimmery auburn hair and red-tinted lipstick made her classically beautiful on the inside and out! Nathan wore a timeless tux with a fun bowtie because ~why
Rustic barrels and illuminated ampersands helped make Kristina and James’ big day a beary foxy wedding! We had the honor of photographing this couple in two favorite wedding Colorado locations! Lily Lake in Estes Park, Colorado hosted the ceremony (check out our other Estes Park sessions here). Then, Frasca Food and Wine catered the reception near Boulder, Colorado. Their guests were charming and their love was as bright as the smiles on their faces! A Foxy Aesthetic If there’s one thing we embrace wholeheartedly, it’s a love of life and taste for all things whimsical. And perfect enough, everything about Kristina and James’ wedding was completely fun and creative! Their Estes Park ceremony featured a backdrop of wooden barrels and a purple light that matched the bouquets and wedding party’s dresses. No need for a whole party of bridesmaids and groomsmen: these two took the spotlight side by side and said their vows with truth and a healthy dose of jokes, too. Kristina’s adorable 18-month-old niece looked just about as beautiful as her stunning aunt. Her little white dress and purple hair flower fit right in as she danced, giggled, and even napped with her lovable family. Of course, we can’t forget
One by one and two by two, Kyle and Dan walked down the aisle in complimentary suits, watches, shoes, and smiles. What a joy it was to photograph this University Club Denver wedding. These love birds were everything classy, poised, and wonderfully smitten, and we could not have had a better time! The Venue The University Club of Denver is, we learned, a beautiful space full of cozy lobbies and old-fashioned garb with a classy social club vibe. The venue has grand carpeted staircases and hallways filled with mirrors and glossy lights. Its elevators are as shiny as the watch collection Kyle and Dan proudly displayed. While weddings are a popular event for this venue, the space is great for ballroom events, dinners, and meetings. Furthermore, University Club Denver is located in the heart of the city near all of Denver’s urban attractions. Check out some of our other favorite Denver wedding venues like Traci and Andrew at the Brown Palace or Brianna and Ben at Blanc! Two by Two’s Among stacked bookshelves and reflective wooden floors, Kyle and Dan were two perfect peas in a pod as they celebrated their marriage with their guests. The two grooms’ compatibility was clear not
