What do you get when you take a sassy southern woman and a shy but adorable man? Jaclyn and Jacob! Now, add in our photographers, a short walk to a breathtaking Rocky Mountain overlook, and you get… this stunning Sapphire Point engagement photo session! The hike itself is a 0.6-mile loop located just outside Frisco, Colorado, and don’t worry–although the walk is a relatively short one, there are plenty of places to stop and take in the scenery, making it a perfect location for photos.
If there’s one thing we know for certain about Colorado, it’s that the weather here has a mind of its own, so it isn’t all that unusual to wear a t-shirt in the middle of winter. We joined this couple on the mountainside under a warm winter sun, so t-shirts were more than appropriate attire!
This duo was so much fun to work with, smiling, giggling, and smooching as we walked along the path to the overlook. They really put the scenery to shame! We love how the neutral tones of their outfits work with the natural tones from the nature around them. It gave the photos a very cozy, warm feeling that was echoed by the toasty winter sunshine.
We were lucky enough to be on the trail during the prized “golden hour” right before the sun sets. Long, yellow rays darted through the evergreens and lodgepole pines, casting shadows in some areas while illuminating others. The tall, wild grass lit up and intensified in color, but the couple standing in it shone brighter! Jaclyn’s engagement ring caught the setting light well, making the diamond even more beautiful (as though it needed the help).
Witnessing Jaclyn and Jacob’s unmistakable chemistry gave us major relationship goals. Being a little gem of an overlook, and having a gem of a couple at the peak of it, we now know why Sapphire Point is named the way it is. Not only is it just flat out perfect, it’s made even more magical with a Sapphire Point engagement photo session.
