Love at Loveland
A few Valentine’s Days ago, we had the pleasure of putting on our ski’s and catching a chairlift with Nikki and AJ to capture their incredible Mountaintop Matrimony during Loveland Ski Area’s 30th Annual “Marry Me & Ski for Free.” The day featured blue skies, sunshine, and smiles from ear to ear while we celebrated Nikki and AJ’s Colorado Elopement On Skis.
Skiing Into Forever
At 12:00 p.m. sharp Nikki and AJ, and all other participating couples, gathered in Forest Meadow at the top of Loveland. The couples exchanged vows at 12,000 feet of elevation! Nikki and AJ wanted their day to be non-traditional, fun, and a true authentic expression of themselves. Since skiing and snowboarding are one of their favorite activities, the Loveland tradition made for the perfect event for them to say “I Do”.
Snow Much Fun!
Nikki and AJ invited along their siblings and AJ’s niece and nephew to celebrate. After the ceremony was complete, they rode to the bottom to sign their marriage license in the administration office. Then, they celebrated in true Colorado ski style with a parking lot tailgate. The tailgate’s celebratory spread included Prosecco, beef jerky, Oatmeal Creme Pies, cupcakes, and candy. We couldn’t think of a more fitting spread to celebrate an elopement on the slopes!
All The Details…
We loved all the little details that made this day so unique and special! Nikki wore a pink tule skirt worn over her snow pants and held a bouquet of roses and peonies to match. AJ dressed up in a navy-blue sport coat with a boutonniere, a tiny pink heart, and a floral tie, perfect for a Valentine’s Day elopement on skis! Their family decorated their ski poles to add to the decorations of the day.
We had such a blast taking part in this adventurous Colorado tradition! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, snacks, or snow. Not to mention how much fun it was!
