If you’ve ever had the pleasure of frolicking around Vail in July, you already know how stunningly majestic a setting it makes for a wedding. Wildflowers dot the landscape, snow-capped mountain peaks tower all around, and the lush greens of the evergreens and mountainsides take your breath away. Matt and Lindsay have such big hearts and were such a treat to photograph during their outdoor Vail wedding at The Lodge at Vail on the stunning Vail Wedding Deck overlooking the Colorado landscape. As one of Matt and Lindsay’s bridesmaids put it during her toast, “We don’t have mountains like this in Alabama!”
Matt and Lindsay both have a great sense of humor and from the moment we walked into their outdoor Vail wedding, they were cool, calm and collected making it so easy for us to get along with them and be the best that we can be!
The couple incorporated a lot of sentimental details into their celebration, which is always a unique privilege to photograph. Lindsay looked like she stepped out of a bridal magazine, her sheer veil catching the breeze on the Vail Wedding Deck! She wore her maternal grandmother’s engagement ring and carried her paternal grandmother’s blue handkerchief. The handkerchief represented her something blue, along with her blue Chacos she slipped into during the reception. What a fun (and comfortable) idea! Her bouquet was draped with lace from her mother’s wedding veil, adding to the amount of love supporting her down the aisle.
Matt looked the part, too, with his heirloom cufflinks, sharp suit, and laid-back attitude. Lindsay has surprised Matt with a pair of his maternal grandfather’s cufflinks before the ceremony, which he lovingly wore throughout the day. They were the perfect Colorado wedding couple and we enjoyed getting to know them, their family, and their guests as the evening progressed.
Their outdoor Vail wedding ceremony couldn’t have been more beautiful that day on the Vail Wedding Deck! The skies were blue, wildflowers were in full bloom, and the mountains stood majestically behind the lucky couple as they exchanged their vows. This Lodge at Vail wedding was truly breathtaking!
After their sun-soaked ceremony, Matt and Lindsay navigated around mountain bikers and zipline fliers for some couple’s photos and then rejoined their group at Cucina at The Lodge at Vail. There the party kicked off with toasts that were hilarious and touching, a delicious meal, and some serious dancing. It’s awesome to see guests hit that part of the reception and just let loose! And of course, there were glow sticks for all the guests, young and old! Everyone’s cares melted away in a jubilant celebration of this special couple and their big, big love. It was so gratifying to share in that glow. Pun intended.
