Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Devil's Thumb Ranch definitely proves the adage, "Don't judge a book by its cover."  The harsh sounding name could not be further from the idyllic resort that Flo and Brandon chose as their winter wedding destination. Located in Tabernash, Colorado, just north of Winter Park, Devil's Thumb Ranch is the absolute vision of a winter wonderland. With sprawling fields of freshly packed snow and white brimmed trees dotting the mountainsides, the quiet stillness in the air provided the perfect atmosphere for a celebration of love.   Flo and Brandon kept it minimal while at the spacious Devil's Thumb Ranch and Spa with their closest family and friends. The love in the air kept everyone warm and cozy even in the below freezing weather. Also, the addition of warm fur to Flo's dress helped her to brave the frigid mountain weather. Devil's Thumb Ranch offers a uniquely luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.  They offer a renowned spa, acclaimed restaurants, as well as cozy accommodations.  Sustainability is at the forefront of the Devil's Thumb Ranch, so that future generations will be able to enjoy the natural tranquility and beauty of Tabernash, CO.

Weekend at Beano’s | Steph & Brian

We're in the midst of a particularly cold winter here in Denver. While the ice and snow make getting to work a little less fun, one upside of the chilly weather is the early opening of many of Colorado's ski resorts. Stephanie and Brian managed to beat both the cold and the crowds at their Beaver Creek Resort wedding late this fall. The crisp fall air was perfect for taking photos outdoors, and it certainly helped that all the aspens had begun changing colors!   A Mountain of Activities Beaver Creek Resort is a major ski resort owned by Vail Resorts. The company owns several other ski resorts in the state. Although winter sports are the resort's biggest draw for visitors, the resort hosts activities all year long. Maybe you want to spend the day with a private snowboarding instructor. Or maybe a day at the spa is more your style. Whatever your interests are, Beaver Creek has it all. The resort even has its own village, complete with dining and shopping options. Colorado seems to never be lacking in smiles, views, and overall good times. Our session with Emily & Drew on their wedding day was no different! Taking place at the Crooked Willow Farms back in September, the beautiful landscape and ceremony that the venue had to offer were both spectacular. Crooked Willow Farms Located between Denver and Colorado Springs, Crooked Willow Farms offers a fantastic natural venue that is easily accessible from both cities. The farm has beautiful open fields, a pretty view of the mountains, and cute buildings that can easily fit a reception -- or a dance party! One of the buildings -- called 'Lola's Loft -- is in a barn house from the 1920s. With about 90 acres of land, there are no shortages of opportunity at Crooked Willow Farms. Located just a handful of miles outside of Denver (and near Aurora!), Foxfield is a small town that offers an escape from the big city while still being near the heart of Colorado. This unique location makes Foxfield a great wedding destination. We were excited to join Kiki and Justin at their traditional Catholic wedding earlier this fall! Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church Our Lady of Loreto was founded in 1998 in Foxfield, CO. Today, it is home to around 2,500 families. The church describes its mission as, "Guided by the Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Parish is a Eucharistic community that seeks to live the Word of God, instill the legacy of faith, and proclaim the love of Christ through service to all." The church offers a variety of services for its community beyond traditional Catholic weddings, such as funerals, men's and women's study groups, and confirmations. A Traditional Catholic Wedding The church was the perfect venue for Kiki and Justin's wedding. The elegant decor complimented the bride and groom's classy attire. We might be a little biased, but we believe it's hard to beat Colorado in the summertime. We get low humidity, clear skies, and some of the most incredible views around. These qualities all make Colorado a dream wedding destination. And if you're going to get married in Colorado, why not go all out? That's exactly what Mikal and Andrew did in this mountaintop wedding shoot in Keystone! An Uplifting Experience Most people associate chairlifts with ski trips, not weddings. But Mikal and Andrew aren't like most people, and this isn't like most weddings! Besides, hiking in heels on your special day can be a real drag. The fun-loving couple decided to reach their mountaintop wedding shoot in style. If you ask us, it was worth it. Look at that view! Ages of Affection Having loved ones around is always nice, particularly on a day as important as your wedding. Mikal and Andrew were lucky enough to have generations of family both young and old in attendance to celebrate their devotion to each other. With summer behind us, there is a lot to look forward to with the changing of the seasons. The color of the leaves will turn and we'll begin pulling out our sweaters as the temperature cools. It's a time to relax more and sweat less. While we're excited about Fall, there's much we'll miss about the summer. Today we're remembering one of our favorite summer memories. While traditional weddings are all good and well, elopements offer an entirely underrated opportunity to focus on the most important aspects of a new marriage. Personal and intentional, elopement weddings are a blast to be a part of! We loved capturing Deborah and Kevin’s intimate elopement photos in Colorado because they made clear what was most important: marrying one another. What’s the Buzz? Most couples want to escape the stress of planning a big wedding and considering family and friends’ opinions and feelings. Nora & Dom | A Charming Wedding at Lionsgate

Once upon a time, on a brisk November day, Nora and Dom said their “I Do’s” under sparkling chandeliers and among friends and family. We went back to one of our favorite wedding venues, the Lionsgate Event Center to photograph this charming wedding. Lionsgate Highlights Lionsgate Event Center, located in Lafayette, Colorado, offers a clean and brilliant space for any occasion in any style! Grand staircases make way for the bride’s princess train, and white chairs match white-slatted windows and swooping ceilings. Plus, every princess needs her magical chandeliers! Lionsgate has those too, and Dora looked radiant under the glittering lights and crystal. The outdoor space is just as fantastic as the inside – trust us! The place has a style that combines rustic architecture with splendid castles fit for royalty. Guests can enjoy both glam and comfort in this space with its winding stone pathways and bending trees. Nathalia & Nathan | Saint Malo’s Chapel Wedding

Classic with a twist? That’s exactly how we would describe Nathalia and Nathan’s Saint Malo’s Chapel wedding. This day was bright and brilliant among every stone, mountain, and corner. Congratulations to the newlyweds! The Classic In addition to having dangerously similar names, this couple’s harmony with one another was nothing ordinary. Somehow they each embellished themselves in personal touches like bowties and red lipstick, yet they fit together as well as the stained glass pieces of the chapel. Saint Malo’s Chapel on the Rock in Allenspark, Colorado, is considered a state landmark not just because of its longstanding history with the Catholic church. This chapel rests at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains like a sleeping giant. The chapel’s stone exterior dating back to 1939 provided earthy, cool backdrops for the happy couple.
