Question: what’s better than breathtaking Colorado engagement photos? Answer: an engagement session with one of our very own! Corianne, a beloved and past From the Hip studio manager, and her fiancée Kristopher invited us to photograph their engagement photos at Rocky Mountain National Park.
Rocky Mountain Fever
We love building relationships with every couple or family that we photograph, but it’s even more fun to capture the personalities and quirks of two good friends! These two artistic souls looked practically perfect against this national park’s mountainous vistas and shimmering lakes on a May day. Their love was more than obvious, and their appreciation of Colorado was clear, too!
Rocky Mountain National Park’s 415 square miles include alpine adventures galore like trails, wildlife, starry skies, and peaceful camp spots. Its popularity among natives and tourists alike make it one of the most visited spots of our state. Located near Estes Park, Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park is surely stunning at all times of the year with either walls of snow or swaths of colorful trees.

High on Love – and Altitude
Corianne and Kristopher met in college, and Kristopher’s sweet soul played along his ukulele strings had Corianne sold from the start. The two are from Chicago originally, but they moved to Colorado after falling in love with the state’s inviting weather and adventurous possibilities. It was only fitting, then, that we photograph their engagement photos among their favorite humble giants: the Rockies. The cold was nothing new to them, and they knew they could continue their love for each other and for studio art in the bustling, vibrant city of Denver.
This photo session included the sweetness and sappy smooches that every couple in love can’t help but display. However, personality and flare was quick to flourish in everything from their outfits to their dance moves. Corianne’s floral dress with melancholy tones paired well with Kristopher’s outfit of olives, tans, and black. Kristopher’s favorite hat and beloved ukulele made the trip, and abundant dock dancing commenced.
To tie it all together, the sunset provided a mysteriously whimsical sky for some mountaintop kisses. The couple’s silhouettes looked too good to be true! It’s safe to say we had an absolute blast photographing two of our dear friends. Thank you, Corianne and Kristopher, for being quite the adorable couple and tremendous friends of ours!
