If you thought there was nothing more precious than Alana and Erick’s engagement pictures along Clear Creek in Golden, Colorado…think again. We had the privilege of photographing their December Beaver Creek wedding day in the middle of the stunning snowcapped Rocky Mountains! The duo looked extremely elegant and their venue only complimented their aesthetic! The holiday season is fun for many reasons, but spending the day in a rustic, festively decorated, wooden lodge surrounded by loved ones (and with a few feet of snow outside) while celebrating your wedding is something truly special.
Not only was their SaddleRidge wedding venue in Beaver Creek beautiful, but Alana and Erick also embraced the DIY spirit by picking out candles, gorgeous flowers, perfect table toppers, plate settings, and “welcome” signs to add even more warmth to the lovely location. The stacked suitcases, vintage globes, and golden compasses gave off a very worldly vibe (a nod to the years they had just shared abroad before moving back home). Elsewhere, the warm colors of the flowers, glowing candles, and soft lighting produced an ambiance that made everyone feel at home. During the ceremony, candles illuminated a pathway down the aisle for the couple. We noticed that a few deer even had their eyes on the bride and groom!
Alana and Erick were willing to venture up one of the many ski slopes Beaver Creek has to offer for some once in a lifetime photos! They looked like classic Hollywood stars, surrounded by snow-kissed pines in their winter wonderland. Plus, the shades of red in Alana’s bouquet and the red from Erick’s scarf gave the pictures a nice little pop. These two proved to us that a Beaver Creek wedding in winter is absolutely perfect, and there is really nothing more amazing than dancing on a mountaintop in the middle of winter, while in gorgeous attire.
Queen Elsa from Frozen has nothing on Alana! Her champagne colored dress with a beaded belt, paired with a fur shrug was exquisite, and Erick’s corduroy jacket and plaid scarf complimented it impeccably. Their wedding bands were stunning, too, and given that these rings hold a lot of significance to the newlyweds, we made sure to capture plenty of detailed images of them!
Something that Alana and Erick looked forward to most on their big day was being able to have their favorite people in the same place at the same time so close to the holidays. This is something truly remarkable and we were glad they were able to relish that connection in the moment. The feeling of togetherness and family rang throughout the entire Beaver Creek wedding from start to finish and kept smiles on our faces for days afterward.
We’d like to give a big thank you to all the other incredible vendors that helped make Alana and Erick’s wedding day so perfect! Saddleridge was a gorgeous venue, decorated by the couple and the amazing team at Alexan Events; Diamond Empire Band played the seriously groovy tunes; Alexia’s Bridal Boutique and The Wedding Seamstress are responsible for Alana’s gorgeous dress and veil; Liz at Beauty on Location Studio did an amazing job with the hair/makeup work; lastly, Christopher Timberlake for the gorgeously crafted rings!
