Hullabaloo Books is a very small bookstore in Brooklyn, New York that is staffed by volunteers; it’s really more of a community asset than a money-making business. They sell new and second-hand books and have beautiful custom-built shelving.
Prior to being taken over and remodeled into its current state, this space was a long-time pawn shop. The change is reflective of how the Crown Heights neighborhood is improving and small businesses are beginning to flourish.
Hullabaloo Books is one of four Brooklyn businesses we photographed over the summer.
With summer having drawn to a close and our busy wedding season winding down, we look back at some of our favorite moments from this year's celebrations!
Two Saints is Crown Heights' newest bar. The footprint of the space is small, but it is bursting with character! It has a really relaxed, comfortable atmosphere making it the go-to bar for the local.
We were so lucky to have such beautiful weather for Ann and Sean’s engagement session at the Denver Botanic Gardens, which was made all the more picaresque by the lush greenery on display. We’re already looking ahead to round two with these sweethearts at their wedding this year!
Little Zelda is an adorable cafe, teeny and beloved in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. They craft espresso drinks that pair perfectly with their freshly baked goods.
Nagle's Bagels is a bagel shop. And like many others, very small. On weekends, there is a line out the door for hours. But it is so worth it!
Fun filled Denver Athletic Club wedding photography with a beautiful bride and a great guy! L'Meese, an America's Next Top Model participant, and her new husband Mark have been tremendously fun to team up with and it was gratifying to see their wedding come together so spectacularly!
It's been another couple weeks full of fantastic adventures here at From the Hip! Our photographic exploits took us to California, Massachusetts, the United Kingdom, and Russia (more on those later). Here's some of what we've been working at here in the studio...
