The Ratio Beerworks Major Nights Lime Gose beer release event was not your standard craft beer release. Normally, you and your friends would arrive at the brewery, take a seat at the rustic bar, and order the new beer. But release a beer in conjunction with a kick-ass air guitar tournament and there will be nothing but excitement surrounding the news!
Meet Ratio Beerworks
Located on the cross-streets of Larimer and awesome in the River North Art District (RiNo) of Denver, Ratio Beerworks brings home the gold in our humble opinion.
We love their connections to the Boulder punk rock scene and they’re just an all around awesome group of people we’re pumped to collaborate with further! As they claim on their website, they “learned how to drink on tour” and “how to brew in Germany.”
Also participating in the Major Nights Lime Gose release event were ice cream shop Frozen Matter, who turned the lime Gose into a cool ice cream treat, and Church of Cupcakes, who make delicious cupcake treats and have provided their decadent desserts at a handful of our weddings in the past. We tasted them (obviously!) and we can confirm that they created an explosion of refreshing lime flavor in our mouths!
Now, For Some Air Guitar
To answer the most important questions you have:
Yes, air guitar competitions are a real thing. And yes, we have photographed one.
The US Air Guitar group and the Air Guitar World Championships define the rules as follows:
- Each performance is played to one minute (60 seconds) of a song
- The 60 seconds can start anywhere in the song
- The instrument must be invisible and be a guitar
- Air roadies are allowed, but must leave the stage before the performance
- Back-up bands (air or real) are not allowed
The Ratio Beerworks Major Nights Lime Gose beer release and Air Guitar Throwdown featured members of the U.S. Air Guitar circuit and local guest celebrity judges. Attendees who had submitted a video of their air guitar routine ahead of time were picked from the crowd to compete with the greats! Winners received a pair of tickets to the Denver Riot Fest & Rodeo.
We had an awesome time watching our fellow beer drinkers shred some air guitar, while enjoying the delectable lime Gose treats.
Let’s hang out at Ratio Beerworks soon!
