Fall is just around the corner, so to kick off the season of oranges and yellows and flannel outfits, we want to share Nicole and Carm's family photos at Red Rocks! What a joy it was to photograph this family of four in their most stylish outfits and fun personalities! A beloved and increasingly famous venue, Red Rocks is known for its concerts and impressive surround sound effects. However, it’s also known for its stunning rock faces and vistas that showcase both the Colorado landscape and the city of Denver. This place is close to our hearts because we’ve been here many times to snap occasions of every kind. No matter the circumstance or season, Red Rocks surely will not disappoint! A Fabulous Four With brunette hair and a burst of red, with golden fall leaves and dapper flannels that match, this family was a total joy to photograph! Nicole and Carm proudly held their two boys Griffin and Sawyer, who clearly already have a strong budding relationship. Engagement season is almost upon us, and what better way to celebrate than champagne on this cold January day at Clear Creek? It's always a pleasure for us to contribute to building long-lasting relationships -- so here's to you, Danielle & Eli! Clear Creek Clear Creek is a small brook that runs through Golden, CO that offers scenic richness and beauty to the surrounding areas. During the summer, people can come to the creek to fish, kayak, and even inner-tube in the creek's waters. The trail that runs along the creek also offers a great path for runners and bikers alike. During the winter months, Clear Creek county (which is a bit farther west from Denver) offers some great holiday events that can help you get into high winter spirits. The winter months in Colorado bring forth a great combination of sunlight and snow. The mountains near Golden provide some great background for our sessions. A cute new face has blessed Colorado, and we were so grateful to capture the newborn-cuteness of baby Kal in this cutely themed newborn photoset! Parents, Katie and Ryan, graciously invited us into their home to capture some blissful and candid moments, and we loved every bit of it! If you want to see some more adorable photos, click here! A Family in Blue Newborn photo shoots are always heartwarming and special, and our session with Katie, Ryan, and Kal was no different! We could tell that Katie and Ryan were loving parents from the start because of the way Kal laid so calmly in their arms. However, you can also see this in their clothes! It is said that the color blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness, and what a fit for Kal's personality! It's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, wait -- it's Superman! Do you want to take some family photos but are worried how the pictures will turn out? Are you stressed about trying to organize a family of five, six, seven or more into a balanced and good-looking photo? Have no fear! We have some tips for photographing a big family! Balance is Key If you only absorb one thing from this post, remember this: it’s all about balance, balance, balance! The perfect picture — no matter if it’s a portrait, a landscape, or anything in between — must look balanced and equalized. The human eye likes symmetry and stability. Basically, we don’t like to look at something that’s a little off or tilted. Because balance is key, it’s important to know that you can balance your pictures in a variety of ways. Color scheme, levels, and varied body positions all can be toyed with to make things look a little more clean-cut and equalized. A few turntables, some dusted off classic records, a bit of booze, and you have yourself a good old-fashioned party! This past May, we went to the Vauxhall Ballroom at Denver's Ramble Hotel for a night of music, film, and luminous fun. Record club Vinyl Me, Please paired with the hotel for a musically inspired event called “The Spins: Classics at Vauxhall,” and we could not have been more thrilled to partake in an event of such class and tastefully artistic drive! A Musical Membership Vinyl Me, Please is, indeed, a vinyl record club with a member, magazine, and Record of the Month tradition! While the modern day person might be letting the thought of spinning records and gritty tunes drift far from their memory, these people at Vinyl Me, Please are keeping the life of records alive! Their mission is to remind the public of the power of vinyl records and its influence on cinema, art, and life in popular culture. They even are traveling the U.S. to “find the best record store in every state”! Not too long ago we went with Katy and Dan to Lost Gulch Overlook to capture their maternity photos against Colorado’s kaleidoscope sunset skies. Then, a few months later we got to take the camera from Katy’s cute bump to this couple’s bundle of joy. We absolutely loved capturing photos of their baby girl at their home. Katy & Dan are clearly thrilled and excited to be parents! Nursery Knickknacks Katy & Dan, like many parents with their swoon-worthy infants, chose to utilize their own home for the setting of their photo shoot. In-home photography sessions are comfortable, sweet, and something you can cherish on your wall or bedside table no matter where you live or travel. Katy & Dan’s newborn daughter looked like an angel surrounded by white bedding and walls decorated with subtle charms.
