As it turns out, Denver is one of the best cities to live in if you like beer. Even better, if you’re super into music and super into beer, we know the perfect place for you. The most tasteful combination of the two, no pun intended, is located on Larimer Street in Denver- also know as Ratio Beerworks!Β The founders of the brewery met through the independent music scene years back. They ended up going on to lead successful careers in marketing, finance, and brewing of course. They eventually teamed up to create this innovative and hip micro brewery for all of us to enjoy!
Beer, Music, Fun–Oh My!
Ratio Beerworks fosters events in the Denver community, like comedy events, even silent discos, and, perhaps the once closest to their roots, Ratio Sessions! Organized by Ratio Beerworks, Soda Jerk Presents, and Mostly Harmless Podcasts, bands that are on tour through Denver stop by and do a stripped down, live show in Ratio Beerworks’ set room. We had the privilege of attending one of their Ratio Sessions. Our ears had the adventure of hearing Beach Slang live!
Based out of Philadelphia, PA and made up of one part James Alex, one part Ed McNulty, and one part JP Flexner, the band sings and plays the guitar, bass, and drums. Loud. It’s a magical kind of popish punk, a musical catharsis that your head naturally bobs along to. Beach Slang has already gained traction after only having released two 7-inches, and it’s all thanks to the music! In music slang, that means they’ve released two small albums, two EP’s if you will.
This is the first Ratio Session we’ve attended. However, we can say that we’ll certainly be back again if not for the bands then for the awesome beer!Β Β
