What better way to kick off the New Year than with some good old-fashioned comedy? We had the privilege of sponsoring 50 First Jokes Denver 2017 at The Bug Theatre. In the spirit of a new year, the 50 First Jokes comedy event brought together 50 of Denver’s best comedians to deliver their very first jokes of 2017. Happy New Year? More like Laughing New Year! Now, these weren’t your typical “same song, third verse” quips. These were never-before-heard, totally undisclosed, completely original jokes that made their grand debut on this night.
And did we mention they were straight from the brilliant minds of Denver’s best comedians? Looks like we did, whoops. *Cue crickets on a quiet night.*
Hosted by Dual Brain Productions, this is the third annual 50 First Jokes event. This has been a great addition to the Denver community calendar, as comedy is an effective (not to mention flat-out fun) way to bring people together. We hope this event will stick around for years to come!
Given that 2016 was a horrendous year for most, claiming everyone’s most cherished celebrities, the countless terror attacks, scaring everyone with the Zika virus, this list could go on and on. Seriously, on and on. The year was so bad even the United Kingdom decided to say “see ya” to the European Union. We are forever thankful for 50 First Jokes giving us a belly laugh to start off the new year.
Charlie Chaplin once said, “a day without laughter is a day wasted,” or maybe it was Dual Brain Productions? Either way, thank you, thank you, thank you to all the wonderful comedians of the third 50 First Jokes event for reminding us that a day without laughter is truly a day wasted!
