This romantic mountain wedding simply couldn’t have happened in any other state! Much like the mountains, Laura and John aspired to have a wedding with classic and rustic themes deeply rooted in Colorado and Della Terra Mountain Chateau didn’t disappoint!
Before arriving at their mountainside reception at Della Terra Mountain Chateau, the ceremony took place in a traditional Catholic church, but the couple was able to maintain a rustic and earthy feel by incorporating blues and greens into the wardrobe of the wedding party. They also kept the theme by featuring plant life and other botanical elements wherever they could! Some of the highlights included logs that held up the place cards, tree stumps in place of cake stands, and succulents as the focal point of the table centerpieces.
A Puzzling Proposal
Laura and John actually met through a technology-savvy route–Tinder! Luckily for them, neither of the two had to spend more than a couple weeks on the app before finding true love!
A year and a half later, around Christmas time, John proposed to an unwitting Laura with a book and a photo of the two of them. John was creative, hiding a puzzle in the book for his soon-to-be fiancé. He wrote a series of numbers on the photo that corresponded to page numbers in the book. Just as Laura was putting together the word “marry,” John was already down on one knee with a ring in hand. Laura said yes (of course!) The newly engaged couple celebrated in the best way possible, by watching a holiday parade just outside their home. They even took a festive picture with a nutcracker mascot. There’s definitely no better way to warm up than with a winter proposal!
John and Laura kept the good spirits up at their mountain wedding, encouraging guests to dance and enjoy themselves. They even posted a sign at the reception that said, “You can find your seat here, but your place is on the dance floor!” Laura’s advice to other couples who are planning their own gathering perfectly sums up the essence of her mountain wedding when she says, “Have fun!”
