Who doesn't love a snow-covered mountain overlooking the Rockies as their backdrop for engagement photos? Monique and Brian loved it so much they hiked up Lost Gulch in the middle of winter! It was freezing cold but they didn't have a care in the world. Visiting from Atlanta, Georgia, these two made it look like they hiked Lost Gulch every weekend. From ATL to the Mile High City I am sure that Atlanta has plenty to offer, but nothing beats the Rockies mid-winter! With an endless range of peaks and valleys, you can never go wrong. Lost Gulch just so happens to be one of our favorite locations. Lost Gulch Overlook is nestled in Flagstaff Mountain which overlooks the nearby city of Boulder. The Boulder area is filled with fun and eclectic people, places, and things to do! From the awesome shops on Pearl street to the beautiful trails surrounding the city-- you can't go wrong! The only thing that could have made this day better would have been some cozy hot chocolate on the mountaintop! Let's Take a Trip to Colombia (it's warmer there!) It wouldn't be an engagement session without an engagement story! After knowing each other since middle

Colorado seems to never be lacking in smiles, views, and overall good times. Our session with Emily & Drew on their wedding day was no different! Taking place at the Crooked Willow Farms back in September, the beautiful landscape and ceremony that the venue had to offer were both spectacular. Emily and Drew had a fantastic time celebrating and dancing with their friends! So, please enjoy these Crooked Willow Farms wedding photos! Crooked Willow Farms Located between Denver and Colorado Springs, Crooked Willow Farms offers a fantastic natural venue that is easily accessible from both cities. The farm has beautiful open fields, a pretty view of the mountains, and cute buildings that can easily fit a reception -- or a dance party! One of the buildings -- called 'Lola's Loft -- is in a barn house from the 1920s. With about 90 acres of land, there are no shortages of opportunity at Crooked Willow Farms. Check out some more info here -- including a full virtual tour! A Dance Party to Remember After getting ready and looking their best, Emily and Drew hung out with all their friends! Drew and his gang look dapper, while Emily and her friends look stunning
When it comes to a lovestruck evening between two people, it should be one that will last lifetimes. In the case of Jesse and Ken, they went all out with a special night at the Lionsgate Event Center! Many laughs and good times were shared on this lovely summer night! We hope you enjoy these storybook wedding photos! The Lionsgate Event Center The Lionsgate Event Center is a top-tier wedding location that prides themselves on being a fantastically unique space, "At Lionsgate, we are determined to break the same old wedding mold. No two love stories are the same so why should your weddings be?". Located in Lafayette, Lionsgate offers not only a charming indoor space for receptions but is accompanied by a church for ceremonies. If the indoors aren't your thing they also have a spacious outdoor area too! If you're interested, you can always contact them and schedule a tour here! Got the moves? The bride and groom brought the whole entourage
City Park is always a favorite location for us and the fox fam at From the Hip Photo. Not only does it have both the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, but it has a spacious park for plenty of activities! With Autumn being right around the corner, it was the perfect time to catch the lasting sun rays of the warm weather. Sara, Jenna, and Logan took advantage of the beautiful September weather as we all headed out to Denver City Park. A fantastic location for some joyful newborn and family photos! Buckets of sunshine and smiles from ear to ear are all over this session. We hope you enjoy these City Park newborn photos as much as we do! City Park Built back in 1880, City Park covers 330 acres of land and is home to many businesses ranging from small cafes to the Denver Zoo. It’s easily the perfect place for a family afternoon picnic or an outing with a basket of toys and your favorite furry friend! Located just a handful of miles outside of Denver (and near Aurora!), Foxfield is a small town that offers an escape from the big city while still being near the heart of Colorado. This unique location makes Foxfield a great wedding destination. We were excited to join Kiki and Justin at their traditional Catholic wedding earlier this fall! Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church Our Lady of Loreto was founded in 1998 in Foxfield, CO. Today, it is home to around 2,500 families. The church describes its mission as, "Guided by the Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Parish is a Eucharistic community that seeks to live the Word of God, instill the legacy of faith, and proclaim the love of Christ through service to all." The church offers a variety of services for its community beyond traditional Catholic weddings, such as funerals, men's and women's study groups, and confirmations. A Traditional Catholic Wedding The church was the perfect venue for Kiki and Justin's wedding. The elegant decor complimented the bride and groom's classy attire. But although the service was reverent, the wedding wasn't totally solemn! After some gorgeous outdoor photos, Kiki, Justin, and their loved ones cut loose
Jack Rabbit Hill Farm Jack Rabbit Hill Farm is a diversified farm and producer of local Colorado wine. The farm sits near Hotchkiss in western Colorado's North Fork Valley. The farm grows 18 acres of grapes, and is also home to sheep and cattle. In 2006, Jack Rabbit Hill Farm began practicing biodynamic farming. This farming method entails "fermenting/composting different plant and animal materials together." This helps the farm avoid using inorganic pesticides and fertilizer. The owner of Jack Rabbit Hill Farm, Lance Hanson, claims the practice has increased the quality of his products. Judging by the fact that the farm's local Colorado wine is starring in its own episode of tasteMAKERS next, we're inclined to believe him! Lance's episode will focus on a program he calls WineTapistry. The program offers Jack Rabbit Hill Farm wines at lower prices to "Colorado restaurants, caterers, and events." It also includes a few non-Coloradan wines selected by Lance. You can find WineTapistry at venues such as Denver's own Yeah Baby and Bar Dough. But the program goes beyond offering delightful local Colorado wine. All the WineTapistry wines can be blended together to create new, custom wines for any ocassion. The Maker Movement tasteMAKERS is
The world of fashion is moving faster than ever, and we seem to be getting busier with each day! Staying stylish has always taken effort, but these days it is especially difficult to put together a solid wardrobe. For the modern woman on the go, putting together a versatile, fun closet might seem too much of a hassle to even attempt. Luckily, June Ruby is here to prove that buying quality modern women's clothing is not just possible, but easy. A Boutique With a Mission But what exactly is June Ruby? In their own words, they are "part boutique, e-tailer, and personal shopper." That's quite a lot! Their purpose, however, is simple: "June Ruby offers a refined selection of styles for women who have places to be, things to do, and want to look great doing it." Now that's a mission we can get behind! Here at From the Hip Photo, we're lucky enough to just be a few steps away from June Ruby, one of our neighbors at the Stanley Marketplace. A Full Range of Fashion While June Ruby's audience might be women who don't have time to hunt for clothes themselves, that doesn't mean that they're only focused on professional
Ever feel like you're being watched? Maybe a bit of déjà vu? There certainly was no shortage of spooks and scares at ILEA's '6th Sense' event earlier this month! Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms Chatfield Farms is a 700-acre native plant refuge and working farm that's located in southern Jefferson County. The area is a beautiful spot for birdwatching, scenic walks, and for picking up the perfect pumpkin! Chatfield also has a couple of historical buildings; a restored dairy farm and silo from 1918, the 1874 Deer Creek Schoolhouse, and the historical Hildebrand Ranch. Hildebrand Ranch was the location early German pioneers settled at back in the 1860s. We'll leave you with spooky
