Locations and time, oh my!
In Summit County, Colorado is where you’ll find both Breckenridge and Dillon. These locations offer downtown Breckenridge, Lake Dillon, and Sapphire Point. Downtown Breck is a town filled with locals and character—from ski bums to history buffs. The world’s highest deep-water marina, otherwise known as Lake Dillon, is a destination for those who desire water adventures despite being land-locked. Sapphire Point Overlook sits between Keystone and Breckenridge on Swan Mountain Road. The overlook offers a stunning view of Dillon Reservoir, hemmed in by the Gore, and Tenmile mountain ranges. The best time for capturing a session here is sunrise and sunset times when the sun has softer and less harsh lighting. Plus, Colorado sunsets offer more colors than words can describe! Speaking of timing, all four seasons in these locations are stunning, it just matters when you want them! If you’re planning a wedding for the fall, having your photo session in the winter can add range for your album or for hanging those pics on your hallway wall!
What to Bring and Wear!
Since these locations are in high elevation, the weather is typically cooler than in the Denver area. Therefore, bringing layers and warm clothes do not hurt! Having outfit changes is not a bad idea either, which includes more options of pictures for your engagement photos. Bringing props like blankets, a picnic set, or a bottle of champagne adds elements that can make the session seem natural and candid.
Pets and more!
Many engaged couples already have a child-a furbaby! So why not include them in your engagement photos? They add entertaining poses and actions during the session. Plus, it helps that we are a team of pet lovers! In addition. since we’re up here, going to Breckenridge to ski or snowboard can be another dynamic idea to help plan your awesome photos! Or even just going downtown and grabbing a bite to eat is chill, too.
