Not to brag, but this summer’s intern crew here at From the Hip Photo is pretty freakin’ awesome. We are lucky to have so many skilled, interesting people lending their unique talents to our efforts here and we couldn’t be happier with this bunch! Members of the group hail from Colorado to Illinois and everywhere in between – a great mix of native creatives and visiting wunderkinds.
Without further ado, let’s get acquainted with this sensational From the Hip Photo summer interns group!
Hannah
Hannah is a commercial photography major who is honing her photo and editing skills with us.
Q: Where would you most like to visit?
A: Barcelona.
Q: What 5 items would you take with you if you were stuck on a deserted island?
A: My cat, my camera, my pillow, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and a lifetime supply of chocolate covered sunflower seeds.
Q: If you could meet three living people, who would they be?
A: Lady Gaga, the Pope, and Jack McBrayer – again! (Because he was so delightful the first time I met him!)
Julia
Julia is another photography and studio arts major who is having fun sharpening her retouching skill set and getting real world experience behind the lens.
Q: What are your three favorite books or authors?
A: There are too many good books and authors to pick! But Dr. Seuss is a classic.
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Who really wants to grow up?
Q: Where do you feel most at home?
A: Anywhere there’s wifi!
Kate
Kate is studying advertising and marketing in college, which explains why she’s been so hands on with our social media and promoting our Exposure! event series.
Q: What does your imaginary (or real) Tinder bio say?
A: Music enthusiast, dog video watcher… I’m not entirely sure how Tinder works (sorry!)
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Living on the side of a mountain!
Q: Where is the coolest place in Denver?
A: I’ve really only been to DIA… But I busted a bunch of conspiracy theories while there and that was pretty fun!
Kenna
Kenna is a strategic communication major (and former From the Hip Photo fashion model!) and has been writing some of the fantastic content here on the Focus blog!
Q: What is a “fun fact” or something unusual about you?
A: I was bit by a bat once!
Q: What does your imaginary (or real) Tinder bio say?
A: I’m probably taller than you.
Q: What 5 items would you take with you if you were stuck on a deserted island?
A: A hammock, a hat, book, matches, and so much sunscreen!
Maddy
In addition to studying media communications in college, Maddy is also focusing on film production. She’s been crafting video and photo projects here at Foxbase Alpha, including an awesome timelapse!
Q: What is the most scrumptious thing to eat?
A: CHEESE! Sometimes I eat blocks at a time…
Q: What 5 items would you take with you if you were stuck on a deserted island?
A: My bed, my best friend, my camera, my bible, and 1 million blocks of cheese!
Q: Where would you most like to visit?
A: Australia.
Rosie
Rosie’s communications and marketing concentration has come in very handy during her time here at From the Hip Photo. Getting us on Snapchat, revamping our Pinterest accounts, and making that Instagram feed shine are just some of her contributions this summer!
Q: What is a “fun fact” or something unusual about you?
A: I have a 22-pound cat named Romeo that I am obsessed with!
Q: Where is the coolest place in Denver?
A: The botanic gardens.
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: A princess!
Stephanie
While Stephanie’s schooling is focused on business administration and marketing, we’ve found that she can tackle just about any project tossed her way (including writing fantastic posts here on Focus)!
Q: What is the most scrumptious thing to eat?
A: Bread. I know that sounds boring, but I really love it!
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Happy – shout out to John Lennon for the idea!
Q: Where is the coolest place in Denver?
A: Little Man Ice Cream.
