Can you think of a better place to enjoy a sip of wine than on top of Smugglers Mine?ย Especially while watching the sunset over Aspen? Nope, I didn’t think so. And that’s exactly what went down last year at the sixth annual Infinite Monkey Theorem‘s Wine at the Mine Party.
Lights, Camera, Wine!
The Food & Wine Classic in Aspen is three days of events held yearly. The event includes cooking demonstrations, seminars and tasting events. It brings in some of the best chefs and winemakers (cough…cough…Infinite Monkey Theorem). This gives guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with them.
A pass to get into the Classic costs around $2,000. Yeah, you read that right. But it is totally worth splurging if you are a foodie and wine junkie because there is no other event like this. Only 5,000 people attend the Classic, which makes it even more special.
However, the hottest ticket in town isn’t even a part of the festival proper. Instead, it’s a side party thrown by the incredible team at Infinite Monkey, who have flouted convention for six years with their annual Wine at the Mine extravaganza!
Infinite Monkey Theoremย is an urban winery located in the RiNo Art District of Denver.ย They also have a great location right by us here at the Stanley Marketplace, as well as a spot in Austin, Texas, and what can we say other than that we’re big fans! Their grapes grow at an elevation of 4,500 ft on the Western slope of Colorado. Nothing says locally grown like that.
Eat, and more importantly drink, and be merry!
About 800 guests attend the event at Smuggler Mine, an active silver mine, and eat tasty treats from restaurants like Abejas and The Inventing Room. Other treats included bottomless oysters by The Regional‘s Kevin Grossi.
But enough talk about the food, let’s get to the most important part- the drinks. There was a tequila vending machine, beer from Oskar Blues and of course, plenty of wine from Infinite Monkey Theorem.
If you are having symptoms of FOMO, do not worry! It is not too late to get tickets for the Food & Wine Classic this year. Can’t wait that long to get your wine fix?ย Neither can we!ย Don’t worry, Infinite Monkey Theorem is open to the public every night of the week, offering food, art, live music and the best part, the wine!
