Despite being surrounded by the city, this location welcomes natural scenery and wildlife. Choose any area of the trail that you’d like for gorgeous backdrops that amaze in any season! Ample Backdrops
Within the sprawling High Line Canal, there are ample amounts of backdrops and different views to fit your interests! Of course, traveling the whole span of the Canal is not needed for your photo session. Not only is the waterway lined next to the trail, but the trees add fun elements to the photo session!
Family Sessions
This 71-mile trail traverses through Aurora, Arapahoe County, Centennial, Cherry Hills Village. As well as Denver, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch, and Littleton. This large area makes it easier for families to gather for a photo session! As you can see in the photo examples throughout this blog, the Canal path has a lot of natural elements. Making it the nature trail you are looking for in your session.
Other Details
Pets are allowed on the trail but need to be leashed. So feel welcome to bring your four-legged friends! We recommend that the photo session be captured in the afternoon. However, since the canal is lined with trees, anytime works well for this location. The trail is paved in some parts, natural surface in others, but is wheelchair accessible throughout.
The most scenic stretch is the 6 miles between Three Pond Park (parking) and Orchard Road. This span displays the Blackmer Commons Wetland Wildlife Preserve. Ruby Hill Park (recently renovated) is another great connection spot with great views and features of a snowboard and terrain park.
