Barbie: A Love Story

May 6, 2020 May 6, 2020 From the Hip Photo2 comments2768 views

From the far-reaching depths of quarantine, we bring you a little tale of two hearts beating as one. . .

Barbie’s love story starts on a glorious, warm winter day, Barbie was walking her poodle, Violet at their local park. She happened by a stranger walking by on the same wooded path and instantaneously caught her eye.

Barbie didn’t think too much of it because a lot of people stop to pet Violet, I mean she’s crazy cute, right? When she heard the stranger’s laugh and saw how much Violet liked the stranger, she knew something was different. Violet was excited to have met someone new, someone, who seemed familiar but had a strange new scent to her.

As they parted ways, their eyes locked for a brief moment. Hearts pounding, and butterflies in their tiny waist. For a moment they were both at a loss for words. A strange new feeling passed over them and they were drawn back together. Courtney almost forgot to get Barbie’s number! Almost.

Courtney was so elated to have Barbie’s number, she walked away with a slight pep in her step! She couldn’t think of anything else on her way home and wanted to call her immediately, but she knew she had to play it cool, at least a little.

If dogs could talk, there may be a little more to add about their first meeting, but alas, we’ll have to go by memory to tell you the story about two absolutely fabulous ladies meeting!

The feeling of butterflies…

You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when something is just so magical that you can’t think straight? If you can imagine multiplying that feeling by 100, you can imagine how Barbie and Courtney were feeling after their meeting.

After a few hours at home, and not being able to shut her mind off, Courtney called Barbie up and asked her out on a date! Barbie didn’t even have to think about it, she was thrilled! It had been a while since her last relationship, and that didn’t turn out so well…

The first date

Their first date was sweet… and nerve-wracking! They met up, and Barbie showed up with flowers, how cute! They started their date off at a local cafe and watched a movie together. It was a simple date, but a connection was made and they knew they’d see each other again.

I smell snow…

In the coming weeks, they were inseparable! Talking on the phone through the night, seeing each other a few times a week, could it be too good to be true? One day, Barbie asked Courtney if she wanted to join her on a horse riding adventure. They knew that it would be a fun day, but when the snow showed up, they weren’t prepared for how magical it was going to be.

They roamed the winter wonderland together, the magic of the snow casting a deep spell on them.

Their conversations were amazing, as always. They never ran out of things to talk about. They spoke about their childhood, their friends in school, their hobbies, and what they hoped for in the future.

First kiss

The first kiss was so magical, you would think it was a fairy-tale. But it was as real as it gets, the connection was undeniable. Sparks, (or were they snowflakes?) were flying!

Stay tuned for another quarantine chapter of Barbie and Courtney’s journey of love in the near future.
