If you haven’t already noticed: we love food. We love cooking it. We love photographing it. And you best your sweet behind that we love eating it.
Luckily for us, we’ve had the opportunity to capture an obscene amount of food photography for Troy Guard, a culinary expert and hero in the Denver restaurant scene. With his multi-cultural cooking style, it’s a no-brainer that he’s provided Colorado an abundance of delicious restaurants. One of our personal favorites (and it should be one of yours, too) is Los Chingones.
With two locations, one in RiNo and one in the Denver Tech Center, Los Chingones offers an inventive twist on Mexican food by placing a special emphasis on seafood. Troy Guard will be joining rad restaurant (and another From the Hip #PhotoFam client) Next Door at Eastbridge’s Town Center at Stapleton, where he plans on rolling out two more restaurants: a third edition of Los Chingones as well as HashTAG, which will provide Stapleton with some more sorely needed breakfast and brunch options. We’re positive this concept in the making is going to be a hit for a couple of reasons, one being that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and the other being that Troy Guard is a genius chef whose restaurants never fail to please.
As for the Los Chingones restaurant itself in the DTC, the artwork is devilishly done. From funky designs to vibrant colors, everything about the place is aesthetically pleasing. You’ll leave artistically satisfied, with a full belly to go along with it! It was hard to peel our eyes away from the big mural of a beautiful sugar skull.
Though the artwork was amazing at this location, they also have the boldest, most playful furniture. Their modern chairs in vibrant colors, as well as loud prints, were a nice mixture of modern and funky. The Downtown RiNo location, on the other hand, has a massive rooftop bar that can seat 90 people. Located in the midst of a thriving arts district, this location is also surrounded by murals galore.
If we were a company that rated food, we’d give Los Chingones an 11 out of 10 and we’d recommend it to everyone and their mom. Given that we aren’t celebrity chefs appearing on TLC…yet, we’ll just have to recommend you eat here! (But–real talk–we’ve totally brought our visiting relatives there.) Not only do the unique dishes dance Jarabes with our taste buds, but Los Chingones has a drink menu that turns that dance into a full blown fiesta.
