Elon Musk is a household name, but some people don’t know that he has a culinary genius of a brother. Everyone repeat after us: Kimball. Musk. Kimball Musk. Now don’t forget!
Did you forget, no? Okay, good because he’s about to take the Midwest by storm with a massive expansion of his restaurant Next Door, a restaurant that aims to provide the consumer with healthy, affordable, and locally grown food. He plans on having 50 of these restaurants by 2020!
In Boulder, Colorado during 2004, Musk established The Kitchen. The Kitchen served up garden-to-table, healthy concepts. He later opened a lower priced restaurant with a similar concept right next door to The Kitchen. Ironically, he named the new restaurant Next Door. Next Door has three locations across the state, one in Denver’s Union Station, one in Glendale, one in Boulder, plus one to come at a location we’ll unveil in a hot second (you best get excited).
Furthermore, in expanding his restaurant, Kimball Musk plans to focus primarily on the United State’s heartland– the Midwest. The company sources almost half of their food from local farms, which not only helps out small, local businesses, it keeps the farm-to-table concept thriving. Two very important things in our book! Local. Healthy. Affordable. What more can you want?
Luckily for us, there’s a location opening… (drumroll please)… in Stapleton’s Eastbridge Town center! That’s practically in our backyard! The doors will be opening sometime late this spring 2017 to early this summer and you can guarantee we’ll be the first in line. Next Door will have plenty of neighbors in the community, us being one of them, but one of its more immediate neighbors will be Los Chingones. If you didn’t already know, Los Chingones is another edible piece of heaven we hold close to our hearts here at From The Hip Photo! In addition to Los Chingones, another neighbor will be HashTAG, a breakfast restaurant brought to you by Troy Guard, the chef behind the making of Los Chingones.
With so many incredible dining options coming to the Stapleton community, we’re already stressing out about where we’ll eat first. Good thing there are three meals in a day, right?
