A scenic snowy mountain, a couple in love, and their fur pup. Does it get any better than that? We certainly don’t think so. Jordan and Max are one of those couples who absolutely radiate happiness. From the way they look at each other to how they care for their dog, Kaya, this couple is truly unique and we love to capture that.
The Perfect Location
We hiked into Chautauqua Park, a location with a history as rich as Jordan and Max’s love story. This historic landmark dates back over 100 years, to a time when the city of Boulder had just started allotting land for preservation. In 1898, citizens of Boulder approved 80 acres of land to house a Chautauqua assembly. This land would provide a space for speakers, teachers, musicians, entertainers, preachers, and specialists to teach late 19th century and early 20th century adults. Believe it or not, Chautauqua is the only park, that resides west of the Mississippi River, still in operation, today!
With a history like that, exploring this gorgeous park was even more meaningful for us and Jordan and Max. Seemingly oblivious to the historical importance of the area, Kaya bounded in front of us in the snow–sniffing plants and exploring as Jordan and Max snuggled, kissed, and laughed. The couple were so wrapped up in each other that they didn’t even notice their noses turning red from the cold as they continued to smile and hold hands throughout the session.
An Unexpected Surprise
Just as we thought this winter wonderland engagement session couldn’t get any more magical, two deer ran across our path. Symbolic of the couple’s kindred spirits perhaps, the sighting only added to the magic in the air. Working with a couple this obviously in love makes our job not only easy, but rewarding. Watching Jordan and Max celebrate their love and happiness can only be described as extraordinary, and the photos prove it!
