Katie and Scott are such an amazing couple, and this isn’t the first time we have teamed up with them. We teamed up for Katie and Scott’s surprise engagement at Grand Lake! Sparks flew at this magical engagement, literally and figuratively. Katie and Scott are both event industry professionals and definitely not new to the wedding scene! Scott and Katie own and run Lighting and Design by Scott. We were so excited to team up with them again at their wedding!
First Looks are pretty much an industry standard. Whether you want to see each other beforehand or slide a note to each other before the ceremony, we have seen so many different meaningful ways for you to have a moment with your person before you are married before your loved ones! Ask us how we can help you plan the perfect first look!
Katie and Scott each got ready in their own rooms at the Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins, Colorado. Once they were polished and ready, they planner a first look with each other. The happiness on their faces is undeniable! They were excited to be marrying their best friend and the love of their life.
Katie’s dress was from The Little White Dress store in Denver and the floral arrangements came from Fleur Decor in which they white and green flowers tied by a blue lace to tie in all the details and colors together. Scott wore a dark grey suit with a dusty blue tie and shoes. It was quirky, just like him! He even had the wedding date embroidered into the collar of his shirt. Talk about one-of-a-kind!
After running around Downtown Fort Collins and capturing a bunch of exciting photos, we headed to their venue, The Union Bar and Soda Fountain, where the ceremony and reception would take place. The Union Bar is a mid-century modern styled restaurant and boasts a spacious outdoor patio for Katie and Scott’s family and friends gathered to see them tie the knot.
Bringing in their Jewish roots, the couple recited their vows, broke Challah bread and the glass. The colors were dusty, navy blue, and the decor gives a hint at Katie and Scott’s unique and staple decor style. They had personalized wine bottles for each guest, along with a fun backdrop including a custom neon light sign the read “you + me”, and a greenery wall with the words “cheers” which all was done by Lighting and Design by Scott.
The night ended with s’ mores by the fire and the Hora, which is a tradition in the Jewish culture. The newlyweds sit on chairs as the guests raise them in the air and dance in rejoice of their love dancing around in circles. What a fun group and a fun couple! Katie and Scott danced the night away with their loved ones and had the time of their lives!
We’re always happy to set up a time to learn more about your wedding or elopement ideas by phone or in person.
