How many studio backdrops does From the Hip Photo offer?

We offer over 30 unique backdrop options across four categories: Portable Modern (scene-style backdrops like brick, bokeh, and wood textures), Portable Classic (solid colors and textured muslins in 19+ colors), Deluxe Portable (premium hand-painted canvases), and Studio-Only (large-format backdrops exclusive to our Denver studio).

Can I use multiple backdrops in one session?

Yes! Our one-hour sessions include multiple backdrop changes so you can get a variety of looks. Mini sessions typically use one backdrop, but you can switch it up during longer sessions at no extra cost for standard backdrops.

What is the difference between portable and studio-only backdrops?

Portable backdrops can travel with us to your office, event, or on-location shoot. Studio-only backdrops are large-format setups permanently installed at our Denver studio — they include options like our full brick wall, barn wood panels, and metallic surfaces that create a more immersive look.

Do deluxe backdrops cost extra?

Our Deluxe Portable Backdrops carry an additional $100 fee on top of your session price. Standard Portable Modern, Portable Classic, and Studio-Only backdrops are included with every session at no extra charge.

Can I see the backdrops before my session?

Absolutely. This page shows every backdrop we offer with both the backdrop alone and a sample portrait shot on it. You can also visit our Denver studio for an in-person preview. We recommend choosing 2-3 favorites before your session so we can set up efficiently.

Which backdrop is best for corporate headshots?

For corporate headshots, our most popular choices are Solid White, Off White, Textured Gray, and Textured Blue Beige. These provide a clean, professional look that works well on company websites, LinkedIn, and business cards. Our textured options add subtle depth without distracting from the subject.

Where is your studio located?

Our studio is located at 8842 E 47th Ave in Denver, Colorado 80238, in the Northfield area of the Central Park neighborhood. We’re easily accessible from I-70 and offer free parking on-site.

Do you offer green screen or chroma key backdrops?

Yes, we offer both solid green and solid blue chroma key backdrops as part of our Portable Classic collection. These are included at no extra charge and are perfect for composite images, product photography, or any project that requires background removal. We always recommend discussing particular usage needs ahead of time to ensure we’re setting you up with the best option for your project.
