The Perfect Alternative to Red Rocks
This scenic park features trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use, plus trees and a creek. With the open space that features water and is close to Golden and Red Rocks, it is right in between. Matthews/Winters Park photos is a great location for families, pets, and more!
Where You At?
Visitors to this park will find a starting point for reaching the City of Denver’s Red Rocks Park by trail. Across County Road 93, the Hogback offers a different recreation experience, with a steep climb up to the hulking ridge between plains and foothills. Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center is a neighboring attraction, providing interpretation for the dinosaur tracks imprinted on the eastern face of the Hogback.
Family Photos
This open space location leads into a bundle of trees with the creek running through it. This shady area is perfect for all of your family shot ideas! With this location being so close to Morrison and Golden, grabbing a bite to eat after the session can motivate the kiddos to behave. Matthews/Winters Park photos does require a permit, so let us know you’d like this location for your session at least a week prior.

Imagine the photos we can create Matthews/Winters Park with its nine trails, and a vast variety of backdrops! Although some trails may take longer to hike, that is okay, we offer longer sessions too! Feel free bring to bring your pets, just as long as they’re leashed; according to the JeffCo rules. You’ll find smooth terrain, rocky terrain, and a couple of good climbs on this route. This trail is often popular for mountain biking, therefore having photobombed pictures could be pretty sweet.
