We always love getting to capture Chatfield Farms wedding photography and documenting other photo sessions there, but there’s so much more to this unique venue! The outpost of the Denver Botanic Gardens is a 700-acre native plant refuge and working farm located along the banks of Deer Creek in southern Jefferson County.

A small name change to  (formerly Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield) reflects the very big role of the “farm” in everything that happens at the Chatfield location: from events like harvest-themed Pumpkin Festival and Corn Maze and the distinctly rural Santa’s Village to a growing commitment to food access through the Gardens’ Urban Food Initiatives.

With Deer Creek winding through it, the property boasts a large natural area where you can encounter deer, birds and other wildlife. Within this natural setting, cultivated areas feature artistic gardens of native and introduced plants that thrive in our Colorado climate and delight the senses.

Gain a glimpse into the past through historical buildings that date to the 1800s and observe how the agricultural focus continues today with its current food-growing operation.
